With KaneTrak, we provide a flexible and scalable, single source solution for multi-platform inventory control.

If your needs require the identification and tracking of sensitive data processing equipment, high value telecom switches and cell sites, freight shipments, new office furnishings or critical healthcare devices we have designed an online program with strict attention to chain-of-custody.  Information regarding product shipped from the manufacturer can be pre-loaded into the system and upon initial receipt at any designated location (our facility, your facility, customer site, etc.) it will be inspected and scanned into KaneTrak.  This begins the formal tracking process.  Our bar-coding based system gives you 24/7 real-time access to order, monitor, and manage your inventory production and flow.  You’ll know exactly what you have and where you have it at any point during the project.

Based on your industry and specialized needs, our customer service team will design and implement an inventory collection program built to meet unique project requirements. This approach combines the latest in materials management, best practices, and inventory management technology so as to capitalize on efficiencies and reduce overall project costs.

KaneTrak offers modules for five distinct uses but can be modified to accommodate unlimited possibilities. Current applications include:

HospitalityTrak™

HospitalityTrak™ is a web-based inventory control, ordering and tracking program.  Upon scanning, the bar-code system immediately logs your inventory into HospitalityTrak™, our proprietary web-based inventory control system.  HospitalityTrak™ give you 24/7 real time access to order, monitor, and manage your inventory production and flow.  You’ll know exactly what you have and where you have it.

 

HospitalityTraktm is a secure, password protected and internet-accessible inventory program giving customers the opportunity to view product inventory at times most convenient for them.

Ordering is as easy as point and click.  12am or 12 pm, the system is readily available for order placement. Simply select the item(s), identify the quantity, choose the date, time and location of the requested delivery and then click “Finished”.  If special instructions for the driver, notations about the delivery site or multiple points of contact are needed, that information can be added/modified during the ordering process. HospitalityTrak allows the customer to generate their order according to their needs.

Through HospitalityTraktm the following reports are available.

  • Items ReCap Report - helpful when reviewing the status of arriving product. Information can be viewed by specific PO# or item# with the drop down menus.  It is also a good shortcut if you only need info on one or two items.
  • Inventory By Shipment Received – details each inbound shipment to the warehouse, including carrier and bill of lading number.
  • Shipment Received by Item Number.
  • Inventory Received by Weight – helpful when project is outside of scope to determine storage costs.
  • List of Items Received indicating damaged, short or backordered.
  • Customer Order Form – when submitted, a time stamped email notification is sent to the Kane Dedicated Customer Service Representative and a copy to the email address associated with the login name.
  • Customer Inventory & Shipments – good overall snapshot of the inventory.

 

 

HealthTrak™

A critical component of every healthcare facility relocation or installation is the ability to accurately track each piece of inventory from project initialization to final item placement. With this in mind, The Kane Company has helped design and implement a highly mobile, password protected, online software solution designed to maintain inventory control while assuring strict attention to accepted HIPAA compliant chain-of-custody protocols.  This web-based tracking system gives approved users detailed real-time information identifying the location, condition and status of product and equipment every phase, 24/7.  We communicate with appropriate manufacturers, transportation providers, our own field staff, and our customers throughout the project.  And as a further level of detail, HealthTrak™ identifies each individual purchase order and item number from the time the purchase order is cut, to the time the item is delivered to its final location. By utilizing HealthTrak ™ and secure barcode technology, we have the capability to track each item from project beginning to project completion. 

HealthTrak™ is a web-based Inventory Control, Ordering and Tracking System. For new purchases, all items are barcoded and entered into HealthTraktm as soon as deliveries arrive in our warehouse. These items then become available for later delivery to the healthcare facility.  When called out for delivery, product barcodes are scanned out of their location in the warehouse, scanned onto the truck, and scanned again at the delivery location. At each critical juncture, information is logged into HealthTraktm thereby giving all designated personnel continual ability to monitor, order, and manage the inventory. For existing equipment, the same overall process holds but begins when items are initially identified at the current site. Tracking these items might involve relocation from the current location directly to the new site, or in many cases, removal to off-site storage for a designated period of time with subsequent redelivery.

TelecomTrak

TelecomTrak was developed to track both partial and entire shipments of telecommunications product from the manufacturer to our warehouse and then to final delivery and installation. In some instances deliveries are shipped direct to the job site where TelecomTrak heps record and verify shipment accuracy. In both scenarios, the process includes details on even the smallest parts associated with a complex installation to ensure elimination of downtime.

Our experienced team communicates regularly to determine when items will be ready to ship.  The Team then makes all arrangements to have the product received at our warehouse and subsequently delivered to the job site, or they arrange for our crews to receive the items directly at the installation site.  All information gathered is entered into TelecomTrak™, giving the customer real time, online tracking, including estimated date of pick up, actual date of pick up, estimated date of arrival, actual date of arrival, notes between vendor and the Kane team and purchase order details. 

 

FreightTrak™

FreightTrak™ was developed with the customers’ freight needs in mind.  FreightTrak can track your product from vendor to final destination and every point in between.  Our experienced freight team communicates regularly with the vendor to determine when the freight will be manufactured and ready to ship.  The Kane team then makes all arrangements to have the product picked up and delivered to its prearranged destination, be it the property, warehouse or possibly another vendor.  All information gathered is input into FreightTrak™, giving the customer real time, online tracking, including estimated date of pick up, actual date of pick up, estimated date of arrival, actual date of arrival, notes between vendor and Freight Team and purchase order details.  Once the product has reached its destination the signed POD is uploaded into FreightTrak for customer review and confirmation. Our system also helps control your budget; during the transportation process customers can receive updated cost information.

 

StorageTrak

StorageTrak was designed with many of the same features found in the other modules but also adds flexibility for multiple item withdrawal and return. This is especially helpful with modular furniture systems and the tracking of product inventory as office space is expanded or downsized. Space designers, architects and installation crews can rely on accurate and up-to-date parts inventories when designing new or reconfigured office layouts.

StorageTrak is scalable, flexible and expandable and was built to adapt to ever-changing business growth patterns. While developed primarily as a tool for the storage of office and household furniture, StorageTrak is reconfigurable to help handle a wide variety of items from rolls of carpet to cases of bottled water. No the matter the item placed in storage, StorageTrak provides an easily accessible online inventory management system.

The variety of project requirements presented by our customers is reflected in our data collection tools, including customized asset labels, carbon-copy forms, PDA-type devices, and mobile PC and laptop workstations. Tools and Techniques

KaneTrak™ utilizes a variety of hardware and software tools depending on the specific project goals and requirements. While most inventory projects require basic data fields and values, we have the ability to provide validation and lookup data fields in support of specific customer needs.

 

Inventory Types

  • Validation Only:  Customer provides a list of existing assets and locations;  Kane personnel validate the list against physical inventories
  • Description Only:  Asset descriptions are created for each piece, typically including category, general description, dimensions, physical location and condition.  Labels are applied at the time of the inventory.
  • Validation and Description:  Previously inventoried assets are updated for location and condition.  Unlabeled assets are labeled and described using the above procedures.  This scenario requires coordination of the customer’s existing database of assets and the Kane physical inventory activities.

Kane Inventory Solutions may utilize several different hardware and software formats:

  • Carbon forms, standard or custom
  • Label forms
  • PDA devices utilizing standard/custom data collection programs

The KaneTrak™ solutions team will provide the architecture to record, track and manage assets within your facilities or ours.  Pictured on the right, you will find our mobile Warehouse Management System (WMS) device which utilizes customized, project-specific applications and hardware.

In most cases, a combination of label forms and our WMS data collection tools are utilized to collect information during the project.  Selection of the final data collection format should be done following a detailed requirement analysis with the customer and prime contractor.
